"I've been named the most famous person now." That is the sultry voice of Cassino, the famous Sicilian merchant, in The Godfather. It's an arresting image, the image of someone who has made it big, and the image of someone who plays the game of life on the streets of New York City. Yet, if one goes by Cassino's description of himself, then perhaps he is also the very last person to walk the earth. His birth certificate, given at birth in a village on the Venetian island of Murano, shows that he was actually born there, and not in some underdeveloped Italian city like Bergamo. Casino or Poker, is probably the oldest known game of life, dating back to the time of the ancient Romans. And it was said that Caesars, the great Egyptian pharaoh, was so interested in the game of life that he began building an extensive library of the rules, so that he could play the game any time he wanted. And even today, when you visit an casino, you will find people playing the game of life at any tables available. So, the very idea of being "the most famous man today" seems a little quaint.

But even the Roman Empire was intrigued by the idea of gambling. In fact, they even put a tax on it. Tutankhamen's son, Akhenaten, took his father's ideas a step further. Akhenaten's monomaniacal approach to life, called the worship of the sun and moon, was something completely new. Instead of using the sun to regulate the days and nights, and the moon to create cycles based on his lunar calendar, he believed that the combination of these two energies could create an unlimited amount of wealth. And so, he turned his library into a holy temple dedicated to both the sun and the moon. To him, it represented the two fundamental forces in nature, and would have great significance at the time for those who would call themselves Egyptians.

However, if you're going to find yourself claiming that you've been named the most famous man alive, you might want to take note of the fact that you were actually born into the game. Any self-respecting game of this magnitude has a long history of being named before anybody else. That means you, right now, are the one living proof of it. The people of Egypt would have been aware of the game long before the term "gamble" ever existed. And they would have used the sun and moon as well. So, don't get too cocky when you claim that you've been named the most famous man alive.
